Sample Itinerary
Day 1
Depart Dublin with Aer Lingus flight at 1310
Arrive Santiago de Compostela Airport at 1620
Meet local guides at the airport and transfer to Hotel.
Overnight at the Area Central Hotel in Santiago de Compostela
Dinner this evening at the hotel.
Day 2
Breakfast at the Hotel.
Meet local guides and Coach transfer to Arzua
Picnic lunch en route
Late afternoon pick up from Rua-Opino and transfer to the Hotel
Dinner at the hotel this evening
Arzua to Rua-Opino 18 km – This shaded section of the Camino will pass through woods, along streams and through sleepy villages. Take your time and visit the chapel of Santa Irena, with its unique statues of Santiago. The rest of the way to Rua/Opino is on a good and quiet country road.
Day 3
Breakfast at the hotel.
Meet local gudies and Coach transfer to Rua-Opino
Picnic lunch en route
Arrive Santiago and back to Hotel
Dinner at the hotel this evening
Rua-Opino to Santiago 19 km – You are nearly there. You can feel civilization taking over again as the Camino passes by Amenal. The next stage will be Lavacolla where prilgrims traditionally washed in the river before reaching Santiago de Compostela. The tall eucalyptus trees will accompany you to Monte del Gozo (368m) and its huge modern sculpture – from here you can see the Cathedral of Santiago. You are on the “Mount of Joy” and you can start you final decent to Santiago de compostela (264m, population 80,000).
Day 4
Breakfast at the Hotel
Meet guides and transfer by coach to Cee
Picnic lunch en route
Coach transfer from Finisterre and transfer back to the Hotel.
Dinner this evening at the Hotel
Cee to Finisterre 16 km – Today you will enjoy a fabulous coastal walk along cliffs and by coves to the Cape Fisterra and its lighthouse. This is the Western most part of Spain and it was originally thought to be the end of the world. The Cliffs of Death got their name from the belief that the sun came here to die each night.
Day 5
Breakfast at the hotel.
Day at leisure to explore the city and relax! Our local guides will be very happy to make suggestions for sightseeing and nice places for lunch.
Depart Hotel at 14:30 for Airport
Return flight to Dublin is at 17:00
Arrive Dublin at 18:10
